Together, we're creating a community where the heart takes center stage, transforming lives and empowering nurses to reclaim their inner strength.
When we tap into this powerful energy center, we can heal ourselves, expand our perceptions, and foster emotional transformation and deeper connections — both within and beyond the walls of traditional healthcare. It’s the gateway to sustainable healing and the foundation for truly transformative care that so many of us have been craving.
The heart generates the strongest electromagnetic field in the body, affecting every other organ system, fueling our energy, and even impacting the people around us.
I became a registered nurse in 2005, and in 2011, I earned my credentials as a psychiatric nurse practitioner. While I am grateful for and excited by advancements of modern medicine, I’ve always felt that something was missing — a sense of connection, intuition, and energy that goes beyond the physical.
It wasn't until 2008 when I experienced Heart-Energy Healing for the first time that I really understood the power of healing myself and others through our innate heart-energy.
My own practice of Heart-Energy Healing is continually refreshed in my work as a mental health nurse practitioner. I am privileged to work for the people of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe where I am provided the time and flexibility to incorporate energy healing into routine clinical practice.
I am so grateful for and enriched by sharing Heart-Energy Healing with the people I serve. But I alone can only do so much.
Won’t you join me in this incredible journey of healing our hearts?
My journey into healthcare began with a deep desire to provide the kind of holistic care I sought for myself and my own family.
In 2008, my hands were full and my heart was heavy. I was working in the pediatric psychiatric unit, single-mothering my two young children, and in graduate school to become a nurse practitioner. I didn’t have any free time, but a deep yearning led me to sign up for a workshop in Heart Rhythm Meditation with Puran and Susanna Bair.
While they led us into meditation, I found myself drifting off to sleep, as any sleep-deprived nurse is likely to do when given a quiet moment. When suddenly, I found myself more awake and perceptive than I had been in years, or perhaps ever.
TO BE PERFECTLY HONEST?
But there was no stick, no physical contact, just the palpable presence of Susanna who had come close and directed her energized presence my way. Since that time I have been devoted to the profound work of uncovering the potential of my heart and to integrating heart-healing into health care.
I have found that this healing gives us the strength to reshape our lives and the environments we work in. It’s a philosophy that’s sustained me through dark times and given me hope when all seemed lost.
And now I’m here to share this beautiful practice with you and see this work spark a revolution in nursing, offering something far deeper than surface-level “self-care.”
It’s a beautiful journey back to you — to recognize your worth isn’t tied to how much you can give — but to the inherent light you carry within.
With this hands-near energy healing method, you’ll activate the heart's potential at a physical, emotional, and energetic level by learning how to fully focus on your breath and the rhythm of your heartbeat.
Throughout history, people have developed a variety of methods for working with the human energy field. Heart-Energy Healing has some similarities to Reiki and Healing Touch but is unique in its emphasis on the power of the heart in generating and restoring the energy field.
This emphasis on the heart is in keeping with the method’s roots in the rich tradition of Sufi healing that was introduced to the West by Sufi master Hazrat Inayat Khan in the early 1900’s.
In 1989, Puran and Susanna Bair founded the Institute for Applied Meditation — IamHeart — with a mission to integrate Inayat Khan's teachings with insights of current science and the challenges of modern life.
The Bairs continue to develop and teach the methods of Heart Rhythm Meditation and Heart-Energy Healing to a worldwide audience of individuals seeking to activate the energy of their own hearts. I am honored to call Puran and Susanna my teachers and my friends, and I am excited to share their methods with the nursing profession.
Everyone has their own reason for becoming a nurse — some say it’s a calling and others feel it’s a stable career with good benefits. But no matter your reason for becoming a nurse, we all deserve a place where we can show up as ourselves and heal from the trauma we experience at the bedside.
Nurses Healing Nurses is a community where you can breathe again. This is where you begin to heal. And this is where you reclaim your strength — not just for yourself, but for everyone who relies on the brilliance of your heart.
